Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue an interest in music, as a singer and pianist in a church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan and has since been remixed by many producers and remains a staple of her live set. Her voice has also been a part of vocals to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during four performances per day at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
