Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz who was birthed in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. In the year Ryder was only seven her family moved into Mendocino County California. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder would read extensively because of the lack of television. Ryder started to take acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. Lucas was let go in 1986. Ryder, who was barely 15 years old, landed an acting job as a lead actress. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her high school years. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress could bring about change. Sadly, this didn't occur. The actress continued to chase her goals. Her breakthrough came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was later cast in successful roles. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
